Intro Day and Meeting the Teachers

Well today was a crazy day, not only was the temperature an absurd 92 degrees, but i spent a good chunk of my day in training and in a non air conditioned class room. Today we as student teachers met the principal at our school, and the other teachers, they were all very welcoming and friendly. For being a primarily Vietnamese and Hispanic school i was surprised to see that most of the teachers were Caucasian. I was excited to have the special ed teacher present as i could learn about what our special ed program looked like as well as hear about some of our special students. We had a visit from the police to keep us updated on some very important issues concerning our school, which was very interesting and beneficial to know, but at the same time a little scary coming in as a student teacher. After a one on one with my supervisor and talking with my master teacher, i have decided to hold off on working until i see my work load. As I already know what i learn while student teaching and what effect i leave on my school and supervisors makes a huge difference so i truly do want to give it my all. Tomorrow is the first day of school- so i must get to bed, i am VERY EXCITED!!!
